HABC – Level 2: Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Qualification Overview:

The level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is is aimed at all employees. It is very useful for young persons/ new safety professionals to raise their ability to identify and understand hazards when preparing for work experience and into employment.Persons gaining this qualification will know that health and safety is the responsibility of everyone within a business, its contractors, visitors and suppliers.
Outcome of this Qualification?

This qualification provides the opportunities for learners to develop competence in key skills and produce evidence towards attaining key skills. The qualification does not ensure key skills are met as this would depend upon learners producing a a portfolio of evidence and the mode of study adopted.
Qualification Structure?

This qualification is made up of one unit, the details of which are provided in the next section. Learners must successfully complete the assessment for the unit to achieve the qualification.
What Does The Qualification Covers?

Unit 1: Health and Safety in the Workplace.
The learning outcomes are:
  • Understand roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
  • Understand how risk assessment contribute to health and safety.
  • Understand how to identify and control the risk from common workplace hazards.
  • Know the procedure for responding to accidents and incidents in the workplace.
What is the Duration of the Training?

The One day(s) Class Room Training + Multiple-Choice Examination.
How the qualification is Assessed?

This qualification is assessed through a 30-question multiple-choice question examination. The duration of the examination is 60 minutes.Successful learners must achieve a score of at least 20 out of 30.
